Some of you might be seeing this site for the first time. A few of you have seen it before.  I would like to welcome you ALL back to another year!  This is our classroom website. A place you will be able to come to often.  On the side bar there are many fun and helpful websites for you to use here at school and at home.  Take a few moments to have a look around. :)

Parent Club... Not just for parents

If you haven't heard already Parent Club happens every Thursday evening from 5-7pm in the Challenger Library.  I have thoroughly enjoyed spending these evenings playing fun math games with students and parents.  Come and learn a few new games with your child, enjoy the computer lab or come and get help on homework.  For more information go to Challenger's webpage below.

The Best Parts of Us... A Writing Project

This was one of the first writing projects of the year.  We read together the book The Best Part of Me by Wendy Ewald and I thought it would be fun to do the same kind of thing she does with her  students in our class.  I had each of the kids pick the part of their body that they were most proud of.  Thinking about these questions... does that part resemble another family member or friend?  Does it help you with sports or in school?  Then they wrote a reflection about that part that they chose and drew an illustration of it.  It was interesting to hear all their thoughts and reasons for choosing what they did :)  Here are a few of them.  Enjoy!
